365 Days Perfect Nails – My favourite brands

If you’ve followed and read my blog, then you definitely know that I’m a sucker for nail polishes. I love taking care of my nails and I like them always looking sleek.

During the Spring and Summer I tend to step away from my beloved burgundy and deep red, which are my go-to choices for the colder seasons, and pick more lively colors like white, light pink, orange, purple, light blue and mint.

There are different brands that I like and that I’ve discovered with time.
To me a nail polishes have to be smooth, have a good coverage, be shiny and don’t chip easily.

My favourite brands and colors are:

I’ve worn this bright yellow for more than a week now, without any top coat because I’m a lazy old panda, and I have to say that I’m surprised it has chipped or lost its vividness.
I love this color and I think it’s so perfect for the Summer and its name is quite perfect itself: Brunch Queen.
Pretty Woman NYC sells a wide variety of nail polishes, which are smooth, bright and last-longing.
The drying process isn’t exactly fast, but not too long either.
The only flaw is that some of them, like All That & Dim Sum (the lightest cream shade shown below), are quite transparent and take a few coats to achieve full coverage.

ALL THAT & DIM SUM                                   GIRL BOSS                                 BLACK RASPBERRY

The purple shades are similar to one another but they differ in the nuance, I think they’re perfect all year long for a sober and elegant, yet original and colorful touch.

These nail polishes are very easy to apply, they’re creamy and dry fast, resulting in a beautiful shiny look. They kinda look like gel nails, which I totally love but I’ve always been too afraid to do because of the damages they leave to the nails, so these Trust Fund Beauty goodies are the perfect solution.

ELEGANTLY WASTED                                     DIRTY RICH                                            WHAT’S A BUDGET?

I own way-too-many-to-count Kiko Milano nail polishes. They are definitely my favourite ones. They are affordable, with a shiny finish, they dry fast and don’t ruin easily. They also come in sooo many colours.

My favourite colours are the ones I use during the cold seasons, which are obviously reds:

I have always problems with my nails, not as bad as they used to be, but the recovery path is a long one and for now they still break and are a bit weak.

Nail care is very important for me and I’ve picked up valuable tips along the way, and discovered new good quality products.

My favourite ones now are from Colorama and Pretty Woman NYC.

I always use a combination of products: a nourishing nail polish to help my nails grow, a strengthening one, and argan oil drops to enhance flexibility – so the nails don’t chip or break – and nourish the cuticles.

Colorama offers such beautiful, high quality, vibrant nail polishes. I always buy a bunch of them when I go to Brazil because they’re also incredibly affordable.

Here are my favourite brands of nail polishes and my favourite picks for perfect nails all year long.

  1. I’m all about nails ๐Ÿ˜€ I love painting them, but in all colors – I love it all from simple black so hot pink with glitter. I’m personally faithful to only one brand – Essence – but I don’t have anything against other polishes haha
teal/light blue by Trust fund beauty is my favorite here!

  2. My daughter loves doing up her nails on her own. I will have to pass this along to her as she would be interested in all of these different colors and shades.

  3. I don’t know if I can say this but reading all that I felt…Fuck it’s tough being a woman in this world! too much maintainence.

  4. I’ve been obsessed with my nails lately and actually haven’t tried any of these! Love the yellow! -Tonya Tardiff

  5. The yellow polka dot nails look so cool, I’m no good at nail polishes and not cracking my nails. You’ve had some lovely colours x

  6. I am not using nail polish both of my hands and feet but I do love those vibrant colors of a nail polish for my sister because she is into nail art and I am sure she will also like these colors.

  7. I use nail polish more on my toe nails than on my finger nails. It is because my hands are working hands – cleaning, cooking, doing laundry, etc. If and when the time comes that I will be free from household tasks, I would want to give my fingernails a good pampering session. Your nail polish recommendations are really good. I will be happy to have purple nail polish for my toenails. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. I love all those colors! Especially That yellow one! Now you have inspired me to get a yellow nail paint during my next meni-pedi visit!

  9. Nail polish is so pretty and dainty, but when I’m not writing, I’m cleaning and working hard in my home. As a result, I rarely get a manicure or pedicure.

    1. Oh I do too, but I just use a pair of gloves when I’m cleaning so it doesn’t affect my nails, because cleaning products not only ruin the nail polish, but also weaken the nails and cause them to break more easily.

  10. You have lovely nails and this reminded me i need to start working on my nail recovery too as I am getting married this november.

  11. I like the yellow polka dots! Wow,, i love yellow but sometimes, they look unhealthy if it’s painted all over. I like the fact that the natural color can be seen. By the way, you’ve got lovely nails. ๐Ÿ˜€

  12. Glad you mentioned Kiko nail polish as I am very tempted to try it. I used to have very strong nails, for a year now, I feel my nails become very weak. I switch to Soya milk but I can`t tell for sure if this affected it or not. Any ideas – Sam guru nails? ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Ahah I love “guru nails”! Have you ever tried any strengthening nail polish? As I wrote I always use one in combination with a nail polish that helps your nails grow and also argan oil drops, to keep them flexible and healthy.
I also wrote “My Nail Recovery Journey” where I recommend more products and methods other the Colorama and Pretty Woman NYC ones I showed here ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. These look so interesting, my sister is into naii art so I am going to ask her to give this post a read

  14. This is a lovely post, you are really great at doing your nails and them looking amazing. Thanks for the recommendations on polishes to try out, I tend to steer clear of them as they chip so easy so its nice to see these highly spoken of brands.

  15. I can definitely relate. I am also a sucker for nail polishes. I started using them when I was 7 and until now, I don’t feel comfortable going out without one. Thank you for the nail care tips you shared. It was a good reminder.
