How to: Be organized.

Organization is a wide concept and we all think about different aspects of it: for me is having a plan, to someone else it could be to have their house all cleaned and perfect, another one could see organization in their confusion and mess.

But from an outsider point of view, I think that a “tidy” and “cleaned” life can actually facilitate people and it contribute to a more positive mindset and a greater well-being.

I have some quick tips to help you organize your life and wipe out all those useless things, and people too.

Your bedroom is the mirror of your soul

 – Tidy house, tidy mind. –

If your room is tidy and in order, then you are too. It will be easy to find your socks – admit you lose them too, come on – and it will bring you a sense of peace and tranquility. Who loves coming back home after work all tired and stressed and seeing a mess all over their bedroom?

Cleaning the house is tiring and it requires time, though. I feel your pain believe me. So try spend 15 minutes every day tidying up the bedroom, swiping the dust and doing some laundry. It’s not a lot of time, but if you do it every day you won’t have to spend hours cleaning ALL the house on ONE day.

Lack of motivation? You thin you’ll start doing it and after three days you’ll just stop? Again, I share your laziness. Do you have a dairy, bullet journal, calendar, or anything else where you note to-do lists and appointments? Write down all the days you clean the house and the days you don’t, like a sort of plan/schedule/calendar. First that will help you organize your time better and see when as the last time you did the chores. Second, if you have to write it down, you’ll be pushed to do it, so you can check that box or put an ex over that day.

Believe me, trust me, try it, it will work.

Get rid of all that useless stuff

 – Organized clutter is still clutter. Get rid of it. –

Take an entire day, or some hours, to inspect your house and select all the things you don’t use anymore – if you didn’t nee it in the past year, you’ll never need it again, let it go.

Prepare 2 boxes: one for the thing you want to throw away and one for those you’d like to donate – we don’t want to waste anything.

Do the same thing, but this time with people

 – Don’t let negative and toxic people rent space in your head. Raie the rent and kick them out! – Robert Tew

I had to wipe out some people from my life, it was hard but had to be done.

Surround yourself with happy, compassionate, kind, helpful, joyful, positive people; you’ll feel better and your time will be spent much better.

It is sad to thing about it, but do you really want in your life people that use you when they need to and then disappear? Do you need fake, negative people around you? Do you need someone that will walk all over you and treat you not like you deserve to be treated?
Or do you need a friend who will be there for you in times of need, that will support you and laugh at your stupid jokes?
We both know what the answer is.

Keep a journal

 – Keep a daily diary of your dreams, goals, and accomplishments. If your life it’s worth living, it’s worth recording. – Marilyn Grey

I’ve always love planners and I’m kind of obsessed with them; I love to decorate them and keep track of everything I do and that happens in my life.

I know have a bullet journal – yes I joined the trend (guide & review coming soon) and so should you.
It’s really helpful and you can personalize it as you please. I for example have a monthly sheet and a study plan among all the other things.
It will help you get organized, express your creativity and exploit your time to the maximum.

Set goals.

 – A goal without a plan is just a dream –

Do a list, draw them, keep them on your smartphone, whatever you want.
Set some goals for the week/month/year and give yourself a plan: decide in what time you want to achieve them and how you intend to do it.
Decide a strategic plan and try to stick to it. Once you have everything written down it will be much easier and you’ll feel more motivated too.

Divide the goals into different categories for an extra organization: personal, work related, body related.. There’s really no limit.

Don’t forget to reward yourself every time you hit a milestone and you achieve one of your goals, you deserved it.

Take time to yourself

 – The best cure for the body is a quit mind. – Napoleon Bonaparte

Cleaning up, planning, exercising etc is all good, but something you have to take some time just to yourself, to relax and take care of yourself.

Dos something you love and that make you feel good, it will bring you a more positive mind-set and energy.

Exercise

 – The body achieves what the mind believes. –

You may think: “what does gym have to do with being organized?”; well, maybe everything, maybe nothing.

But I think that if you feel great with yourself and if you’re active, you’ll have more energy and will to clean the house, organize your life and everything else.

Mind and boy are connected and that’s a matter of fact.

And if you can, do it outside, in the nature, you will feel much better breathing fresh air, being sun kissed and watching the flowers blooms as you run.

Stop procrastinating

– Procrastination makes easy things hard, hard things harder. – Mason Cooley

Believe me, I’m the queen of procrastinating but I understood that it won’t lead me anywhere, it will only make me feel more tired, listless and lazy; so I’m trying to be more active and get things actually done instead of thinking “I’ll do it tomorrow”.

If you want something done, just start. Sitting there thinking about the meaning of life won’t help you.

I hope this quick tips will be helpful for some of you, share with me how you stay organized! Tell me in the comments.

I definitely agree with getting toxic people out of your life — no one has the time for that kind of drama! And I love keeping a journal. It helps me remember all the experiences I’ve had and when I re-read them it’s like I’m re-living everything!
