When I discovered I’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award by the lovely Emma of Creative Explorations – Go visit her blog! And wait to see the new blog design I created for her here on WordPress, so pretty! – I was beyond thrilled.
I’ve been nominated for only another tag before so when it happens is like Christmas to me. Just the fact that someone thought about me and my blog it makes me happy and feel satisfied about the work I’m doing with That Lifestyle.
But now, let’s get into it.
For the uninformed, here are the rules:
- Thank the person who nominated you.
- Share the award on your blog
- Answer the 10 questions you are asked
- Nominate 10 bloggers
- Ask 10 new questions.
As you can see it is really simple and a great way for bloggers to let people know them a little bit better.
Let’s start with Emma‘s questions:
What motivated you to start blogging?
I’ve always had the idea of starting a blog, I don’t really know why but it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I wanted to express my opinion and myself, share my experiences and help others.
It may seem stupid but when I was younger, reading the fashion magazines, I always dreamed of writing articles for one of them, talking about trends and must haves.
What is the most important thing you’ve learned on your blogging adventure?
The things I’ve learned are so many. But I think the most important thing I’ve learned is to always be true to myself and share my honest thoughts. I do think that readers notice when you’re honest and when you’re faking; and since they’re the ones that keep my blog opened, I think they deserve honesty and good quality content and the least I can do to repay them for reading my blog, is to give them that.
What do you have in mind for your blog’s future?
This is an easy one: I want to grow up with my blog, I want us both to “evolve” and become the better version of ourselves we can be (does all this make any sense?). Let’s stop with the philosophical stuff and move on to the practical side: I would like to collaborate with more brands, to increase the views and followers of my blog. (Isn’t this what we all want at the end of the day?)
Which blogger(s) inspire you on a daily basis?
I’ve begin to be more engaged in the blogger community and I’m really glad I’m doing it because I’m discovering some lovely bloggers and their blogs.
If I must say some names:
– A Hearty Home is Margot’s blog. She always share personal, accurate, clear and honest content and I love reading her posts because I always learn something new.
– Paper Meets Pearl is a blog that I recently discovered and I love everything about it. Kelly uses amazing photos for her posts, which are always very interesting and original. After seeing her blog you’ll want to try out every recipe and decor she proposes.
Where do you find inspiration for your blog?
Literally everywhere. Sometimes my friends say something and give me an idea for a new post without even knowing it. Reading other blog too, I find a post that I particularly like and take inspiration from it. From Elle; my greatest source of inspiration. I love this magazine, its articles and even the advertising.
What does your typical blogging routine look like? (in 100 word or less! Yes, I’m kidding.)
I’ve actually written a post about this: A Day Totally Dedicated To My Blog.
A quick summarize: when I don’t have to go to the University, when I wake up I make some coffe and then I bring the computer to my bed and start my blogging life. I always do researches for new posts, write some drafts, edit photos, check my emails and plan my blogging schedule.
I always like this kind of morning because they’re the more productive and, I don’t know how, I manage to do a lot of things and I don’t even notice the time passing.
What do you enjoy most in the blogging process?
What I like the most is the interaction with other people. Knowing new bloggers and being an active member of this community.
What are you going to write your next post about?
As I’m writing this, I really don’t know what my next post will be about. I have a lot of ideas on my mind. It could be a collaboration with another blogger or a home decor post. We shall see.
What do you like to do outside of blogging?
I’m currently studying so for now that represents my past, present and future. But besides of that I’d like to find a part-time job, spend more time with my family and my friends, shopping, shopping, shopping, and improve my art skills, maybe do some good paintings too.
What is your favorite type of pizza?
As an Italian I love pizza. And my aunt and uncle own a pizzeria, so this question couldn’t be more perfect. There’s a type of pizza that they do that’s my favorite: margherita with buffalo mozzarella, zucchini and prosciutto. It’s light and delicious and it has the perfect combination between sweet and salty.
Now let’s get into Tiffany‘s questions:
What are your top 3 songs at the moment?
I always get obsessed when I find a song that I like and I repeatedly listen to it until I hate it (Does it happen only to me?). So these are the songs that I love right now:
1. “Another Day In Paradise” by Quinn (Ayokay production). This is absolutely my favorite & my favorite part is:
I don’t need what I’ve sowed
I just need something good
And I know when we’re old
We’ll look back and say “some
Mistakes we made, they made us who we are
These games we played they got us really far”
That shit to most won’t ever mean a thing
But it got us here, so I hold on
2. Sam Hunt is a late discovery for me and I LOVE his new album. He has an unique style that mixes country, pop and rap together and the result couldn’t be more perfect.
So in second position there is “Take Your Time”.
3. The third one is “Wild Things” by Alessia Cara.
How did you come up with your blog name?
I was just trying to come up with something simple and short, easy to remember and that reflected the main topic of my blog. So I came up with That Lifestyle, not the most original I must admit that, but I like it so I guess everything else doesn’t matter.
What is your favourite book?
My favorite has to be The Hunger Games trilogy. I just loved everything about it; the plot, the characters, the details.. It made me smile and cry, and I think that’s what a book should do; transport you to another dimension and make you feel real emotion, and it did.
What is your dream career?
I study at the University foreign business so my main dream is to get out of Italy, despite I love my country, and move elsewhere. I’d like to work for a company and be a business woman in career. I haven’t figured out the details yet but I think I’ll have to see where life takes me.
Favourite place you have visited?
Rio De Janeiro, Brasil. I’m half Brazilian so it’s in my blood I guess but I fell in love with that city. The people are so nice, they treat you like you were part of their family; there’s music and art everywhere; the landscapes are magical.. I could go on for hours.
Describe yourself with 3 words.
Creative, kind, emotional.
What is your biggest fear?
To lose someone I love. It would kill me.
Name 3 people you would love to meet.
QUEEN B, no explanation needed. Ellen De Generes, the person with the biggest heart if you ask me. Cameron Dallas, I have the biggest crush on him (don’t tell my boyfriend!).
Favourite TV series?
I currently follow 26 tv shows. Yes, I’m addicted. You can see all the shows I follow on Follow Shows (thanks to whoever invented this website).
My favorites are: Mr. Robot, The 100, Quantico. You can’t not watch them.
But I have to mention Supernatural, Teen Wolf and Reign too.
Have you learned anything from blogging? If so, what?
I learnt to let my walls come down. To express my opinions freely and not to be ashamed about them or about myself.
What is your favourite post you have written? Provide a link!
Uh this is hard. There are a few that I’m particularly proud of, so I’m gonna cheat on this question and give you a few titles and links:
Now it’s the turn for Amy‘s questions: (Some of the questions were the same than the above ones so I skipped them)
Have you had anything life-changing happen to you?
No I haven’t, and sometimes I think it’s good because a life-changing moment of your life could be something positive but also something very bad that makes you reconsider your life and choices. But I’d definitely would like to have a big adventure in my life.
What is your favourite animal?
Pet or animal in general? My favorite animal is the lion, but I doubt that it could also be my pet! Otherwise I’ll choose dogs. Even if I’m allergic to them I love them. My aunties have a lot of dogs and I love playing with them.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
If you’d ask this to anyone that knows me, they’d know the answer as well. I always talk about it and it’s my ultimate and biggest dream. NEW YORK CITY.
How do you like to relax?
Painting and drawing are my favorite things to relax and they really bring me peace and tranquility. Music helps me too, I always listen to it before going to sleep, or when I need to “get out of the world”.
What do you like to do at the weekends?
My weekends are pretty simple: I see my boyfriend, I go shopping, have lunch with my family at my auntie’s house, I study (really not fun), I hang out with my friends.. I don’t do anything crazy or particular, although I’d like to sometimes.
If you could have a special skill, what would it be?
To know all the languages of the world. That would make travelling so much easier and fun. I love learning about other cultures and I think that knowing their langues is fundamental.
What is your earliest memory?
I don’t have like a first memory that I remember, but I do remember a few things about my childhood: me and my friends playing at the kindergarten; me and my cousin swimming in an inflatable pool; me opening the presents before Christmas as soon as my parents went to sleep and then trying to close them up again..
What made you smile this week?
This week is just started so I’ll talk about the last one. I don’t remember what day it was but during the week I went to the University and while I was having lunch with my friends (shutout to Ilaria and Rossana), Ilaria asked me to let her read “Outfits for the last days of winter”, which features Rossana, and while she was reading it she said to me “I’m your biggest fan” and that made me smile a lot.
